MOTHS, MAJORS & MINORS

The story of the Moth, Dragon and Gipsy engine plus all the other classic pre-WW2 de Havilland aeroplanes and engines. This book covers the golden era when flying was fun, airline travel expanded and the Comet racer won the MacRobertson Air Race. Essentially what de Havillands were building from 1925 to 1939 with the exception of the D.H. 66 Hercules and D.H. 77 fighter. This 237 page hardbound book has been produced to the highest quality possible. It features full-page 3-views by Norman Eastaff of all the types built including sub-series, hundreds of photos depicting all the different types including many never seen in print before. Specification details obtained from company sources for both aircraft and engines are included. The only ommission is the production list but that will be published as volume 5 of the series.

MOTHS, MAJORS & MINORS is volume 2 in the series of MAGNIFICENT ENTERPRISE and is a stand-alone book although it will form a logical part of the series when these are all produced.

THE TOPDRESSERS

First published in 1983 this classic hardbound book told the story of the men who pioneered agricultural flying in New Zealand. Based around interviews and Janic Geelen’s research of the aircraft used, THE TOPDRESSERS quickly became a collectors item. Each geographical area of New Zealand had its own pioneers and characters and their story makes this book a great read. Regrettably it is out of print.

THE TOPDRESSERS 1990

The dramatic changes in the New Zealand aerial agricultural scene in the late 1970s prompted this book, co-authored with NZ WINGS correspondent Ray Deerness. It covers each operator working in the 1980-1990 period, a complete pilots list, and photos of the aircraft in use in most of the unique colour schemes that the new operators adopted.
